THE government seems to be serious in imparting training on internal security to senior IAS officers as well. It has asked for nominations of IAS officers below the age of 50 for participation of an 11-month-long training programme on defence or internal security at the National Defence College, New Delhi, beginning January, 2010.
Only such officers who would have completed a minimum of two years of service in the Centre in January 1, 2010, should be recommended, a circular by department of personnel & training (DoPT) under the ministry of personnel, public grievances & pensions said.
