It is a joint venture between Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC), and GAIL (India) Limited. OPaL was incorporated in 2006 and operates one of India’s largest integrated petrochemical complexes located at Dahej, Gujarat.

The Dahej complex houses a variety of petrochemical units, including a dual-feed cracker unit that can process both naphtha and ethane. This cracker unit produces basic petrochemical building blocks like ethylene, propylene, and other valuable derivatives.
