WBSSC Recruitment: Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for any teaching position in West Bengal through WBSSC, candidates must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned below:
Age Limit
- For Assistant Teacher (Primary): The minimum age limit is 20 years, and the maximum age limit is 40 years.
- For Assistant Teacher (Secondary/H.S.): The minimum age limit is 21 years, and the maximum age limit is 40 years.
Educational Qualification
- For Assistant Teacher (Primary): Candidates must have a Higher Secondary Education (H.S.) or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.)
- For Assistant Teacher (Secondary/H.S.): Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or its equivalent degree from a recognized university.
WBSSC Recruitment: Selection Procedure
The selection procedure for WBSSC recruitment consists of two stages:
Written Examination
Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned above must first appear for a written examination. The written examination consists of two papers, Paper-I and Paper-II, and each paper is of two hours duration. Paper-I is for candidates applying for Assistant Teacher (Primary), and Paper-II is for candidates applying for Assistant Teacher (Secondary/H.S.). The written examination is conducted in both English and Bengali languages.
Personal Interview
