About Kendriya Hindi Sansthan
With the objective of bringing the all-India nature of Hindi language to the same level across the country and at the same time giving a strong base to Hindi language teaching, on the initiative of Padma Bhushan Dr. Moturi Satyanarayan and various Hindi loving language educationists of the country, on 19 March 1960, the then ‘Ministry of Education and Social Welfare’ of the Government of India, which is now called the Ministry of Education, formed an autonomous organization ‘Kendriya Hindi Shikshan Mandal’ and on 1 November 1960, this institute was registered in Lucknow. The Ministry entrusted the ‘Kendriya Hindi Shikshan Mandal’ with the responsibility of running the ‘All India Hindi Training College’ working in Agra. On 1 January 1963, the name of this college was changed to ‘Kendriya Hindi Shikshan Mahavidyalaya’ and later on 29 October 1963, it was changed to ‘Kendriya Hindi Sansthan’.
For the operation of the institute, the organization (Kendriya Hindi Shikshan Mandal) has four sub-bodies – (1) Board (2) Governing Council (3) Vidya Sabha (4) Finance Committee. As per the rules of the Board, the Union Education Minister of the Government of India is the ex-officio Chairman of the Board. As per the rules of the Board, the Vice-Chairman is appointed as the representative of the Chairman and the Secretary/Ex-officio Director of the Institute is appointed as the Chief Executive Officer.
