Research Associate, Data Collector

Number of Vacancy: 2 Posts

Educational Qualification: B.Sc, Any Masters Degree

The Gender Park, an initiative of the Government of Kerala to work towards gender equality and empowerment in the state, is in a process to form a research team consisting of a Research Associate and two Data Collectors for a study titled ‘Deliberation and Action Plan for Empowering Transgender Community’. The process involves stakeholder consultations, policy/scheme analysis (department wise), gap identification, documentation, consolidation and support in preparation of the final report. The duration of the project will be three months from the start date. The positions in offer are;

1. Post Name: Research Associate

2. Educational Qualifications: Masters in Development Studies/Gender Studies/Women’s Studies/Rural Development/Social Work/Sociology.

3. Experience: Minimum two years’ experience in doing primary and secondary research. Good writing and analytical skills are desirable.

4. Remuneration: Rs. 30,000/- per month

5. Responsibilities of Research Associate:

a. Support preparation of data collection tools

b. Support in conducting various stakeholder meetings

c. Analyse the implementation status of Kerala State Transgender Policy and

d. Transgender Rights Act (2019)

e. Analyse the data gathered and support in preparation of the draft action plan

2. Educational Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences/ Humanities/Social Work/ Development Studies

3. Experience: Freshers can also apply. Preference will be given to Transgender Persons.

4. Remuneration: Rs. 20,000/- per month

5. Responsibilities of Research Associate:

a. List out schemes, programmes and projects that are implemented by the state government for the purpose of empowering transgender community

b. List out challenges faced by Transgender individuals in accessing Education, Health, Employment, and Shelter

c. Collect qualitative information from Government/non-governmental organisations

d. All other data required for the purpose of preparing the draft action plan as and when required
