East Coast Railway (ECR) Invites Application for Sports Persons Recruitment 2022

Applications are invited from eligible Sportspersons who are Indian nationals for recruitment against Sports Quota (Open Advt.) for the year 2021-22 in East Coast Railway for the vacancies indicated below:

1. Post Name: Sportspersons

2. No. of vacancies: 21

3. Educational Qualification:

i. GP Rs.2800/-(Level-5): A Degree or its equivalent from a recognized university

ii. GP Rs.2400/- (Level-4): 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent, with 80 words per minute in Shorthand (Hindi/English) for a duration of 10 minutes which will be transcribed in typing in 50 minutes for English and in 65 minutes for Hindi, for the post of Jr. Stenographer.

iii. GP Rs. 2000/- & GP Rs.1900 ( Level-2 & Level-3 ):

12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination. (OR) 10th pass from a recognized Board may also apply to be posted as Tech-III. However, the training period for such sports quota appointees will be 3 (three) years, unless they passes ITI qualification in the relevant Trades, in which case it will be 6 months

Selection Procedure

Selection will be based upon performance in sports Trials and Sports Achievements. Certificate (Sports & Educational) Verification will be done by a duly constituted Recruitment Committee of this railway. The venue & date for Trials and Certificate Verification will be intimated to the eligible candidates.

(i) Candidates who are found FIT in the Trial will be considered for the next stage of recruitment. Candidates securing 25 Marks or more against Game skill, physical fitness and coach’s observation during Trial, are treated as FIT candidates.

(ii) The Recruitment process is based purely on the merit of the candidates as per vacancies, in a particular discipline, notified. Canvassing in any form will attract disqualification. In case more than one sports persons score the same mark, preference would be given to the younger candidate to decide the merit.

(iii) The Railway Administration has all rights reserved to fix any date, as deemed suitable, change of place or postponement of Trials/Interview at its own convenience, which can also be cancelled due to unforeseen exigencies against which no claim will be accepted.
