Sub: Appointment of Chairperson, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI)- reg.:
1. Position: Chairperson
2. Scale of Pay: Rs. 2,25,000/- per month (Fixed) plus allowances as per guidelines issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
3. Eligibility:
a) Applicants for selection to the office of Chairperson, FSSAI shall be persons of eminence in the field of Food Science or persons from the administration who have been associated with the subject and is either holding or has hold the position of not below the rank of Secretary to the Govt. of India.
b) Relevant work experience related to Central State Regulatory Bodies would be a desirable qualification for the position.
4. Tenure: The Chairperson shall hold office for a term of three years from the date on which he/she enters upon the office and shall be eligible for re-appointment for a further period of three years.
5. Other terms and Conditions of service: Other terms and conditions of service shall be such as may be prescribed by the Central Government from time to time.
Pay Scale: INR 225000(Per Month)
Age Limit: Till he/she attains the age of 65 years whichever is earlier.

How to Apply:
1. Applications are invited from citizens of India who fulfill the eligibility criteria in the given proforma.
2. The advertisement davp no. 17102/11/0018/2122 published in employment news dated 17.07.2021 stands cancelled and the candidates applied for the post against the said advertisement shall apply for the post afresh.
3. The proforma may also be downloaded from the website www.mohfw.gov.in or dopt.gov.in or fssai.gov.in.
4. The filled in proforma completed in all respect should be reached to the following address by Registered Post/ Speed Post: Shri Vishal Kumar Gupta, Under Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (Room No.504-D), Nirman Bhawan, Maulana Azad Road New Delhi-110011
5. Application must be reached within 45 days from the date of publication of this circular in the Employment News. The closing date of receipt of application will be the 45th day from the date of publication of advertisement in the Employment News. Incomplete applications and applications received after the last date will not be considered.

7. The Government of India will have the discretion to consider the candidature of any person who has not applied in response to newspaper advertisement.
8. The Government also reserves the right to reject any/or all applications received for the office of Chairperson without assigning any reason.
9. The effective date for determining the eligibility as per the prescribed qualification, age, experience etc. for the post shall be the closing date of receipt of applications.
10. Canvassing of any kind will lead to disqualification of the candidature.
