Educational Qualification: M.Phil/Ph.D
Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the following position for the research project titled “Chemical recycling of electronic waste for sustainable livelihoods and material consumption in India” funded by GCRF (EPSRC), UK for maximum one year.
1. Name of Position: Post Doctoral Fellow
2. Number of positions: 01
3. Duration of Position: maximum one year (extendable based on half yearly performance and fund position.
4. Emoluments (p.m.): Rs. 47,000/- (Consolidated, + HRA (as per the institute rule) only. The post is equivalent to the “Research Associate-I” as per the guidelines of DST vide the office memorandum SR/S9/Z-08/2018 Dated 30th January 2019
5. Educational qualification:
a) Essential: Ph.D. Degree in Engineering/ Sciences (Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry). The candidate who have submitted their PhD thesis may be considered subject to the production of a certificate in support of the claim.
b) Desirable Experience in metal extraction and knowledge of material characterization techniques. Candidates having publications in high impact journals (SCI) will be given preference.

Age Limit: 35 years maximum on last date of application. Age relaxation will be applicable as per Government of India (GoI) rules.
Selection Procedure
1. Only shortlisted candidates will be communicated to appear in the interview and no other communications in this regard will be entertained.
2. The candidate, when selected, is expected to join immediately.
3. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview

About Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University)
The motto of the college is “संस्कार ही शिक्षा (Sanskar hi Shiksha)” which literally translates to "Education is Character". Indian Institute of Technology (IIT BHU) is situated in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh,and is a public engineering institution. The institute started in the year 1919 and was upgraded to the status of Indian Institute of Technology in 2012.
IIT(BHU), Varanasi has 13 departments that includes three interdisciplinary schools. IIT(BHU),Varanasi has a residential and co-educational institute that is constructed on land of about 400 acres inside the larger BHU institute which is widely spread of about 1,300 acres in the southern end of Varanasi on the River bank of Ganges. In the year 1971, three faculties of BHU which are Banaras Engineering College (BENCO), College of Mining & Metallurgy (MINMET) and College of Technology (TECHNO) had been merged to form the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IT-BHU).
IIT (BHU), was sanctioned, that was is intimately linked with that of the Banaras Hindu University (BHU). The first convocation ceremony at BHU took place on 19 January,1919.
BHU is the first University of india that introduced the study of Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
