Candidate must be the citizen of India. Candidates maximum age should be 35 years for Unreserved, 37 years for BC-II/ BC-I candidates, 40 years for SC & ST and 38 years for Female Unreserved/ BC-II & BC-I candidates.

The examination is conducted in three phases, Preliminary and Personal Interview. JPSC is held every year on National level for recruitment of candidates for different officer'sposts in various Government departments of the state like Administration, Police, Medical, Forest and Engineering departments.
