Originally established as the Central Province Manganese Ore Company (CPMO) in 1896, the company was rebranded as MOIL in 1962 after the Indian government took over its operations. Headquartered in Nagpur, Maharashtra, MOIL runs a total of 11 mines, located in the Nagpur and Bhandara districts of Maharashtra and the Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh.
