1. Post Name: Lead – Product Development 2. Roles and Responsibilities: You will be responsible for the planning and implementing strategies for RuPay and UPI globally for NIPL. You will also support the Head of Product Management in identifying, investigating and assessing growth opportunities for NIPL relating to product development. Technical, functional or operational expertise relating to payments domain will be an added advantage. 3. Education and Experience: a. Minimum 7 years of Consulting/Product Development experience in Cards/Payments/Banking/IT domain b. Master’s degree in management/business administration with focus on product development/international business is strongly preferred. Master’s degree from reputed/Tier-I/Tier-II institute can be added advantage c. Technical, Functional or Operational expertise in Payments domain d. Excellent oral and written communication skills e. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint etc. 4. Skills Required: a. A self-starter with an ability to zoom-in to work in the details & manage at a high level simultaneously b. Energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive c. A creative problem solver, with excellent analytical, judgment, negotiation & conflict resolution skills d. Proven track record of translating strategic thinking into action plans and results e. Strong leadership, communication, decision making and networking skill to build relationship with internal as well as with external stakeholders f. Eager to drive results: target oriented with sense of urgency 5. Job Responsibilities: a. Draft and closure of complex, win-win partner agreements b. Manage the day-to-day relationships with existing partners c. Ensure standardizations of processes, documentation and creating product value proposition. d. Product Design and Customization to cater to diverse markets e. Product Portfolio Management –identifying areas of improvement, Ownership for driving overall product P&L and optimization of the P&L by controlling costs and improving product margin. 7. National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), an umbrella organisation for operating retail payments and settlement systems in India, is an initiative of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) under the provisions of the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007, for creating a robust Payment & Settlement Infrastructure in India.
Considering the utility nature of the objects of NPCI, it has been incorporated as a “Not for Profit” Company under the provisions of Section 25 of Companies Act 1956 (now Section 8 of Companies Act 2013), with an intention to provide infrastructure to the entire Banking system in India for physical as well as electronic payment and settlement systems.
