Educational Qualification: M.Sc
Sub: Advt. for the positions of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) at PPV&FRA branch office at Shivamogga, Karnataka. The positions/qualifications & experience/emoluments etc. are as under:
1. Position: Senior Research Fellow (SRF) at Shivamogga in Rice project
2. No. of position(s): One post
3. Emoluments or Fellowship/ month: Rs. 35,000/- + HRA as applicable
4. Project: Stability Analysis/ Hybrid Seed Production/ DUS characterization of Parental Lines for Rice and Cotton
5. Essential Qualification(s): Masters Degree in Genetics/Plant Breeding/Genetics and Plant Breeding/Genetic Resources/Plant Biotechnology and 2 years experience on research project post qualification. Must have UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET qualification or the selection process for the Master Degree through a national level examination conducted by Central Govt. Department and their agency and institution

INR
35000(Per Month)
Age Limit: Not more than 35 years for SRF as on the last date of application submission. Age relaxation of five years for SC/ST/woman candidates and three years for OBC can be considered.
Selection Procedure
The interview of the eligible candidates will be held online mode for which a link will be sent to candidate’s email address.

1. Application in the prescribed format have to be emailed to to I/c Admn at [email protected] with a copy to [email protected]/[email protected]
2. The candidate intending to attend for interview, if any of his near or distant relative is an employee of the PPV&FR Authority, have to declare his/her name, designation, nature of duties, relationship in advance in writing during sending of the application form
3. Candidate will have to email the application in prescribed format only, scanned self-attested photocopies of all the required certificates/marksheet from secondary onwards, tabulated information of publications and experience certificates, if any. All original or provisional degree/mark sheets from Secondary examination onwards, Date of Birth proof, UG/PG certificates/Grade cards/mark sheets, credentials, working experience, if any, will have to be produced by the successful candidate at the time of joining for verification, failing which, the offer of appointment will be deemed cancelled.
4. Last date for submission of application is Oct 30, 2021.

About Protection of Plant Varieties & Farmers Rights Authority
In order to provide for the establishment of an effective system for protection of plant varieties, the rights of farmers and plant breeders and to encourage the development of new varieties of plants it has been considered necessary to recognize and protect the rights of the farmers in respect of their contribution made at any time in conserving, improving and making available plant genetic resources for the development of the new plant varieties. Moreover to accelerate agricultural development, it is necessary to protect plants breeders' rights to stimulate investment for research and development for the development of new plant varieties.
Such protection is likely to facilitate the growth of the seed industry which will ensure the availability of high quality seeds and planting material to the farmers. India having ratified the Agreement on Trade Related Aspects of the Intellectual Property Rights has to make provision for giving effect to Agreement. To give effect to the aforesaid objectives the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers' Rights Act, 2001 has been enacted in India.
