Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the following positions in a DST funded project entitled "Scientific reinvention of ethnic food and medicine from Kerala for functional food and drug development" under Professor Chandrabhas Narayana at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.

1. Name of the Post: Project Associate II

2. No of Post: 01

3. Job Description: Food Processing, Functional food development, Scientific study on ethnic food, Chemical characterization of wild oils and related field work.

4. Essential Qualifications: 

a) Good Academic records with a First Class Master's Degree in Life Sciences or Biotechnology or Chemistry or Biochemistry or Pharmacology or medicine or Food Technology.

b) Two years documented experience in food processing, food technology/ Phytochemical analysis and functional food development (after Masters).

c) The Candidate with a doctoral degree having relevant expertise in Food Processing and Functional food development will get preference in the selection procedure.

5. Emolument: ₹ 35,000/- + 18% HRA per month.

6. Duration: Initially for a period of one year and extendable up to three years or till termination of the project, whichever is earlier based on performance evaluation.

3. Job Description: Genomic DNA isolation, Genetic profiling, Phylogenetic analysis and nutritional analysis of traditional varieties of fruits and tubers.

4. Essential Qualifications: 

a) Good Academic records with a First Class Master's Degree in Life Sciences or Biotechnology or Biochemistry.

b) Candidate having relevant documented experience in plant Genetic Engineering and Phylogenetic analysis will get preference in the selection procedure.

5. Emolument: ₹ 31,000/- + 18% HRA per month.

6. Duration: Initially for a period of one year and extendable up to three years or till termination of the project, whichever is earlier based on performance evaluation.

3. Essential Qualifications: The candidate must have a Graduate degree with special skills on traditional wisdom and well versed with the tribal communities.

4. Emolument: ₹ 18,000/- per month (consolidated).

5. Duration: Initially for a period of one year and extendable up to three years or till termination of the project, whichever is earlier based on performance evaluation.
