Educational Qualification: (1) For Technical Traihirtg programme: Minimum Academic qualification Diploma/BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.Exposure and experience in Operation and Maintenance of Transformers, Switchgears, HT < Network, Condition Monitoring, SCADA, Energy Meter, Safety Practices are essential. Interested candidates must have minimum experience of 10 years for Graduete and 15 years for Diploma or more in power. distribution network system in the rank Of AE/DE/SE/DY. CE/ADDL. CE/CE or equivalent.Preference shall be given to those having exposure in Distribution Operation and Maintenance.
(2) For Mahagemeht Development Programme (Nan Technical) (MDP) : Minimum educational qualification shouid be of Two year's (full time)/Three yea'rs (Part Time)
MBA and its equivalenvpGDBM holder in Management (HR/Labour & Social Welfare/Supply Chain Managmenv CA/Cost Accountancy/Finance Area)/ Phd. in Huminities from reconisecl Institute/ Universfty/ Deemed Universfty approved by AICTE/UGC . Interested candidates must have post qualification industriial/institutional experience in their area of specialization for minimum of 10 years( for MBA/Pnd) and 15 years (for PGDBM).

The Government of West Bengal unbundled the erstwhile West Bengal State Electricity Board (WBSEB) into two companies viz., West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) and West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (WBSETCL).
The main business of WBSEDCL is distribution and hydro generation of electricity. It is also the nodal Agency of the Government of West Bengal for undertaking Rural Electrification task in the State with objective of providing access of electricity to all rural households in the state in line with the National Rural Electrification Policy.
The Company is managed by a Board of Directors comprising twelve members out of which seven are Executive Directors including Chairman & Managing Director. Besides one Woman Director and four Independent Directors constitute the Board.
Over the years, WBSEDCL has been continually evolving to position itself as a leading Power Utility services organization of the Country. In the changing landscape, post recent global slowdown, it is anticipated that demand for electricity will change rapidly and expectations will also increase exponentially. WBSEDCL continually strives to enhance the quality of services delivered to its customers. WBSEDCL provides quality power to a gargantuan customer base of more than 2.03 crore across West Bengal through its service network spanning 5 Zones, 20 Regional Offices, 76 Distribution Divisions and 534 Customer Care Centers.
