Number of Vacancy: 11 Posts
Educational Qualification:
Group-A Biophysical Sciences: Fresh PhD with working experience in one or more of the following areas: Structure, Dynamics and Function of Biological macromolecules; Cell and Molecular Biology; Molecular Dynamics Simulation; Physical Chemistry.
Group-B Atomic, Nuclear, and High Energy Physics: Candidates with Ph.D degrees in the field of Experimental Atomic/ Nuclear/ Laser/ Astro-particle/ High Energy Physics and Phenomenology of Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions/properties of strongly interacting matter in a magnetic field.
Group-C Theoretical Physics: The candidate is expected to work independently and conduct research in fields highly interdisciplinary of String theory & gravity, Condensed matter physics and Multi-messenger astrophysics.
Group-D Condensed Matter, Surface Physics and Material Science: The candidate is expected to work independently and conduct research in the highly interdisciplinary environment in x-ray scattering, namely diffraction from powders/ nanomaterials at different sample environment, x-ray reflectivity and diffuse scattering from thin films and multilayers. Experience in x-ray synchrotron beamline for the above-mentioned techniques will be preferable. The postdoc should be able to give users support for experiments at the SINP beamline, Indus-2, RRCAT.
Pay Scale:
INR
58,000-61,000/- Per Month
Age Limit: Maximum 35 Years.

The Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP) is an institute of basic research and training in physical and biophysical sciences located in Bidhannagar, Kolkata. The Institute is named after Meghnad Saha, the famous Indian Physicist. SINP is an autonomous research institute under the administrative control of the Department of Atomic Energy. The institute is governed by a governing council which is headed by the chairman of the atomic energy commission of India.
