Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Genetics & Plant Breeding

• Essential: First-class M.Sc. in Agriculture with specialization in Genetics and Plant Breeding or allied disciplines, or equivalent.
• Experience: Four years of R&D experience in required areas, evidenced by publications in reputed journals after the academic degree.
• Desirable: Ph.D. in Genetics & Plant Breeding/Plant Breeding/Crop Improvement; experience in crop breeding and genomics-assisted research; hands-on field experimentation, phenotyping, and data analysis.

Developmental Biology

• Essential: First-class M.Sc. in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related fields, or equivalent.
• Experience: Four years of R&D experience in required areas, evidenced by publications in reputed journals after the academic degree.
• Desirable: Ph.D. in life science (molecular biology, cell biology, developmental biology); 3–5 years post-doctoral experience in cell and developmental biology with cell culture and model organism research.

Age Limit (as on closing date): Maximum 40 years. Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and other categories as per Central Government orders. Government servants and employees of autonomous research organizations: up to 5 years relaxation.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

1. Shortlisting: Applications screened by a committee. If applicant volume is high, shortlisting may consider desirable qualifications/experience beyond minimum requirements.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates informed via email about date, time, and venue.
3. Reserve Panel: Valid for one year from interview date.

Note: Outstation candidates called for interview receive to-and-fro AC Two Tier rail fare by shortest route. Time spent on Ph.D. (max 2 years) or post-doctoral research (max 2 years) counts as experience if supported by certificates and publications. No TA/DA for application submission.

Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates

• Self-attested copies of all educational qualifications and mark sheets
• Proof of Date of Birth (Matriculation/10th Certificate or Birth Certificate)
• Experience certificates with joining and relieving dates (4 years R&D experience required)
• Valid Category/Caste Certificate in Central Government format (if applicable)
• Recent passport-size photograph
• SBI Collect fee payment receipt (for General/Others category)
• List of publications/patents with copies of 4 best papers from last 5 years
• No Objection Certificate (NOC) in Annexure-I format (for Government/PSU/Autonomous employees)
