The age relaxation for candidates applying to RRB examinations is granted strictly according to the Government of India's reservation norms, calculated as on the prescribed cut-off date.

Standard Age Relaxation (Upper Age Limit):
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
  • SC / ST: 5 years
  • Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD - General): 10 years
  • PwBD (OBC): 13 years
  • PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years

Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation is provided based on the length of military service rendered, plus three years, subject to government ceiling limits.

Note on EWS: Candidates belonging to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) are eligible for a 10% reservation in vacancies but do not receive age relaxation compared to the unreserved (General) category.

Candidates must ensure their category certificate is in the prescribed format for Central Government recruitment and is valid as of the notification's closing date.
