Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited Invites Application for Lead Consultant Recruitment 2022

BHEL invites applications for 01 (ONE) Position of Lead Consultant in the area of Technical Services in Power Sector. Place of posting shall be at Headquarters of Power Sector – Technical Services (PSTS) or as per Company Requirements. The position shall report to Director (Power), BHEL.

3. Period of Engagement:

The period of engagement shall be for one year which can be further extended by a period of upto one year at a time or till the completion of assignment (whichever is earlier). However, the maximum tenure shall be limited to five years or upto 65 years of age, whichever is earlier.

4. Job Description:

a. The Lead Consultant shall provide expert advice & guidance to BHEL Top Management to provide complete solutions for Flexible Operation of thermal power plants. The Lead Consultant will work in co-ordination with Power Sector-Technical Services and work in close association with Head/PSTS for any other special strategic assignment.

b. He shall provide support to BHEL for effective and speedy resolution of flexible operations study. The Lead consultant shall facilitate faster approvals with effective co-ordination among various agencies and customers for delivery of flexible solutions.

5. Qualification Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in any Engineering Discipline. Masters in Engineering is desirable.

6. Experience (as on 01st of March, 2022):

Any retired executive (BHEL equivalent grade of E9 Level for Lead Consultant) from PSUs/Autonomous Organizations/Central/State Government/ Members of National Level Professional Institutions or a Private Sector* Organization meeting following eligibility criteria can apply: *Private Sector mentioned above is a company where the annual turnover is Rs 10,000 Crs or more. (Average audited annual turnover of last 3 financial years)

7. Experience: (Specifications):

A) The applicant should have overall at least 25 years of work experience spanning across large Manufacturing Division and Power Sector in the area of Erection, Commissioning, Technical Services, General Management, Construction management & Execution, Service after Sales, Troubleshooting (Thermal, Hydro and Gas Projects), Condition Monitoring, PG Testing (Specifically of Thermal Plants), etc. Out of the above, further experience as indicated in Clause B is required.

B1) The applicant should have at least 5 years’ experience at a large manufacturing division with experience in Manufacturing/ Testing a major product

B2) (i) The applicant should have at least 20 years in Trouble Shooting / commissioning of Thermal Power Projects with at least 5 years in supercritical Thermal Power Projects area.

(ii) The applicant should also have at least 2 years’ experience as In-charge or Head of Unit / division or equivalent position handling various aspects of Power Sector. 

(iii) Wide Experience of commissioning / Trouble shooting of Thermal, Hydro and Gas Power Projects. 

(C) In addition, the applicant should have Knowledge of Flexible Operation of Thermal Power Plants.

8. Emoluments:

The Lead Consultant will be paid a consolidated fee of Rs. 1,00,000/- per month. In addition, mobile phone charges (Upto Rs 2000) for one connection, Transport allowance at 10% of consultancy fee and Housing allowance as per applicable rates shall be admissible. Further, Senior Consultant/ Lead Consultant shall be eligible for TA/DA on official tours, as per rules.

Selection Procedure

The applications, received against the notification, will be scrutinized by a committee and the shortlisted candidates may be then called for an interaction, if required, by a duly constituted Selection Board.
