The Agricultural Prices Commission was set up vide Ministry of Food and Agriculture (Department of Agriculture) Resolution No.6-2/65-C(E) dated 08.01.1965 and was renamed as Commission for Agricultural Costs & Prices (CACP) vide Resolution No.14028/1/85-Econ. Admn. dated 18th March, 1985.
The Terms of Reference of the Commission were originally set out in the Resolution dated 08.01.1965 and subsequently revised vide Ministry of Agriculture (Department of Agriculture and Cooperation)’s Resolution No. 14011/2/78-Econ.Py. dated 05.03.1980 and vide Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperation (Department of Agriculture and Cooperation)’s Resolution No. 49011/6/2009-EA dated 30.07.2009.
