Educational Qualification: M.Sc, M.E/M.Tech
One Junior or Senior Research fellow is required for working in the Mission Innovation project (Genetic engineering of microalgae for producing alkanes for further applications, like drop in jetfuels) funded by DBT, Government of India.
i. Applicant should have working experience in biotechnology, microalgae, microbiology, photosynthetic organisms to contribute in the thrust area of algal bioenergy using innovative synthetic biology approaches.

3. Eligibility for JRF/SRF: MSc/MTech in Life Sciences/Biotechnology with DBTJRF/NET/GATE
4. Duration: 1 year
5. Prior experience: Wet lab, cell culture and molecular biology research experience

In-silico designing of vectors, Genes-cloning, Synthetic Biology and Genetic Engineering of microalgae,, PCR, RT-PCR, ddPCR, GC-MS, Southern and western blot analysis, DNA sequencing, cultivation of algae in photobioreactors, and maintenance of transgenic cultures of microalgae.
