Eligibility Criteria and Educational Qualification

• Senior Research Fellow:
  • Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Agriculture / Horticulture / Botany from a UGC-recognised, accredited university.
  • Desirable Qualification: M.Sc. in Fruit Science.
  • Desirable Experience: Experience in Fruit Science.
  • Age Limit: 35 years for men, 40 years for women. The application form states "Age as on Closing Date of Advertisement."
  • Candidates must be able to join duty within 15 days of the date of issue of the appointment order.
  • Candidates currently pursuing a Ph.D. need not apply.

Selection Process and Screening Clause

• Selection is conducted through a personal interview at the CHES, Chettalli office.
• Applications received are screened first; only shortlisted candidates are permitted to attend the interview panel.
• The list of eligible candidates for the interview will be displayed on the ICAR-IIHR official website. No separate call letters will be sent.
• Interview Schedule: 1 December 2026, from 10:00 AM. Candidates must report at the Institute campus by 9:00 AM. Those not present by 9:00 AM will not be allowed to attend.
• No TA/DA will be paid to candidates attending the interview.
• A refundable caution deposit equal to one month's remuneration must be deposited upon reporting.

1. Download and fill the Application Format (prescribed proforma) printed with the official notification.
2. Write the Item No. and the name of the post clearly on both the application and the envelope.
3. Attach attested copies of all educational/technical qualification certificates and experience certificates.
4. Send the application by post to:
   Office, Senior Scientist & The Head (I/C), ICAR-Central Horticultural Experiment Station, Chettalli, Kodagu – 571 248, Karnataka
5. Ensure the application reaches the CHES office by 24 November 2026, 5:00 PM. Applications received after the due date, including due to postal delays, will not be entertained.

Applications not in the prescribed proforma, incomplete, unsigned, or submitted online/by email are liable to be rejected.

Required Documents and Instructions for Candidates

• Completed application form in the prescribed proforma with recent passport-size photograph and signature
• SSLC marks card or date of birth certificate as proof of date of birth
• Original M.Sc. degree certificate and all consolidated mark sheets
• Valid SC/ST/OBC certificate (if applicable) in Central Government prescribed format
• Experience certificate on official letterhead (if applicable)
• First page of published research papers (if any)
• No Objection Certificate from the concerned PI (for in-service project staff at ICAR-IIHR)
• Two recent passport-size photographs and valid photo ID proof
• Candidates without original or provisional educational qualification certificates will not be allowed to attend the interview
