Indian Statistical Institute inviting applications for the recruitment of two (02) Project linked Junior Research Fellows on purely temporary basis to work on the projcct titlcd "Advanced Machine Lcarning Techniques for Cryptanalysis" funded by the Defence Rescarch and Devclopment Organisation (DRDO), in the Centre for Artilfīcial Intelligence and Machine Lcarning (CAIML) of the Institute, Kolkata. 1. Position: Project linked Junior Research Fellow 2. No of Post: 02 3. Essential: a. M.E./ M. Tech. or cquivalent degrec in Computer Science/ Cryptology and Sccurity/ Elcctrical Engincering/ Electronics and Telecommunication Enginecring Information Technology, or M.Sc. in Statistics/ Mathcmatics/ Physics/ Computer Science/ Electronics. b. Candidates with M.E./ M. Tech. as the qualifying degree must have at lcast 60% marks (or equivalent grades) in M.E. M. Tech. as well as in the immediate preceding degree. The candidates with qualifying degrees in science must have at least 60% marks (or cquivalent grades) at the master's level and must be CSIR/ NET qualified. 4. Desirable skills: Good programming skills (in C/ C++/ Python). Academic/ project/ rescarch experience in the areas of Machine Learning and/or Cryptology. 5. Pay: 31000/- (Rupees thirty one thousand only) plus House Rent Allowance per month as per rules of the Institute. 6. Tenure of appointment: The appointment will initially be for ten months from the date of joining in the Institute, which may be extended later/ terminated carlier, depending on availability of funds and performance of the candidates.

Selection Procedure
Shortlisting of eligible candidates for interview (online or in person) will be done based on academic credentials, relevant experience and/or a written test. The interview (online or in person) date will be communicated only to the shortlisted candidates in due time

2. The candidate is expected to carry out fundamental research in developing theories and applications of Machine Learning in Cryptology. At the time of joining, selected candidate(s) have to produce all relevant documents/testimonials in original for verification and a medical certificate of fitness from the Medical Officer of the Institute.
3. Failing this, the institute will offer the position to the next candidate in the merit list prepared for this purpose
