For hiring of Assistant -I (Purchase) for “Productivity Enhancement” under the World Bank financed Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART) to be positioned at WAMUL
1. Post Name: Assistant I
2. Educational Qualification: Graduate in any discipline from a recognized institute/University. Commerce graduates will be preferred
3. Working Experience: 1 to 2 years in managing Admin & Purchase related works.
4. Computer Skills: Must have experience of using Internet based applications, using and working with MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point and other related applications
5. Language: Fluency in Assamese, English and Hindi
6. Desirable:
a) Experience of working independently in managing office administration.
b) Administrative writing Skills.
c) Ability to work effectively in teams.
d) Good communication, presentation and inter-personal skills;
7. Key Job Responsibilities (Indicative): Assistant -I (Purchase) will be responsible for
a) Carry out general administration tasks of the project e.g. Devising documents, sorting posts, maintaining filing of correspondence etc.
b) Ensure electronic and paper-based files are maintained and filing is completed in a timely manner.
c) Preparation of comparative statements and Purchase Order.
d) Preparation of Purchase projection timeline.
e) Working Experience in GEM Portal preferable.
f) Prepare reports & presentations for internal communication.
g) Assist in drafting enquiry.
h) Maintain purchase register and Database.
i) Liasioning with Vendors.
j) Bill Verification.
k) Ensure adherence to procurement timelines.
8. Remuneration, payment terms and leave:
a) The remuneration of the Assistant -I (Purchase) will be approximately Rs. 3.15 lakhs per year depending upon experience, qualification and pay package of last assignment.
b) The Assistant -I (Purchase) will be eligible for paid leaves/Holidays as per the applicable norms/policy of WAMUL.
c) He/she will be paid TA/DA as per norms/policy of WAMUL.
9. Duration of assignment:
a) The contract period of the Assistant -I (Purchase) will be for an initial period of 2(two) years, which may be extended on satisfactory performance. Continuity of the Assistant -I (Purchase) beyond 1 (One) year from the date of joining will also depend upon his/her performance.

Purabi is the brand name for milk and dairy products manufactured by West Assam Milk Producers' Co-operative Union Ltd. (WAMUL). Approved by FSSAI, it is one of the largest and most active dairy units in entire North East India.
WAMUL came into existence in 1976 as a milk union of Milk Producers' Co-operative of Nagaon, Morigaon, Goalpara, Nalbari and Kamrup districts of Assam. The Union was set-up under the Operation Flood Programme of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) for dairy development in Assam. Over time, it has gone one to create a symbiotic relationship between milk producers, techno professionals, the market and the consumers.
Today, WAMUL is managed by the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), and it has a fully automated processing unit with a capacity of 60,000 liters of milk per day. It also has automatic milk product manufacturing section for its high quality milk products at LIQUID MILK PLANT (LMP) at PANJABARI, GUWAHATI.
It also has a CATTLE FEED PLANT (CFP) at CHANGSARI, KAMRUP situated at a distance of 40 kilometers from Guwahati, which has a processing capacity of 50 metric tons of cattle feed per day, along with 25 MTPD bypass protein plant and 12 MTPD mineral mixture plant.
