Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow to work in the field of Molecular Sensor Synthesis (PI: Ankona Datta, Chemical Biology and Molecular Imaging lab.) in the Dept. of Chemical Sciences (DCS), TIFR, Mumbai. Number of post: 1
1. Post Name: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
2. No. of Post: 01
3. Essential: M.Sc. in Chemistry with minimum 60% marks; Qualified through UGC-CSIR NET or any National level Ph.D entrance tests in Chemistry, such as, JEST/TIFR-GS final written test/GATE.
4. Desirable: Research experience in synthetic chemistry, organic synthesis of ligands, and characterization of organic molecules.
5. Job Requirement: The JRF will be working on the synthesis of fluorescent sensors for imaging metal ions in living cells. The post is for a project funded by the Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research (CEFIPRA) and the post is co-terminous with the project duration.
6. Nature & Period of Post: Initially period of one year, is extendable for a maximum period of another 2 years based on performance. Total duration is 3 years – 2 years as JRF and 1 year as SRF.
7. Salary: Rs.31000/- (JRF) + HRA
