Call for the position of Junior Research Fellow for the DST-GITA India-Taiwan S&T Cooperation Research Project “Highly Efficient and Reliable Solid State Transformer for Future Distribution Network with Renewable Energy Support”

Applications are invited from motivated and eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for the Department of Science and Technology (DST-GITA) India-Taiwan S&T Cooperation Programme sponsored research project on “Highly Efficient and Reliable Solid State Transformer for Future Distribution Network with Renewable Energy Support”.

1. Post Name: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

2. Essential Qualifications:

a) M. Tech/M. E. in Electrical Engineering Department with specialization in Power Electronics/Electrical Drives/Power System/Energy System/Control System or equivalent.

b) Candidate should have qualified GATE in the past.

3. Desirable Qualifications:

a) Candidate should have experimental knowledge in the hardware/control design of power electronic converters. First division in UG and PG will be given preference.

b) Proficient in MATLAB, PSIM, PCB Design Software and Microcontroller/Digital Signal Controller.

c) Good analytical ability and competent in English writing,

4. Fellowship: First two years Rs. 31,000 p.m. (Consolidated) and Third year Rs. 35,000 (consolidated). HRA will be given as per rules.

5. Duration: Maximum duration of the project is three years. Initially, appointments will be made for six months, which can be extended later for every six months till the completion of project subject to approval of Director, VNIT. The extension shall be solely based on satisfactory performance.
