Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
An individual is eligible for appointment as IPR Chair if they meet any one of the following criteria:
- Academic Track: Has served as, or meets the eligibility criteria for serving as a Professor or Associate Professor as prescribed by the UGC, and possesses sufficient teaching and research experience in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
- Professional / Legal Track: Is an IP attorney who has practised IPR law for a minimum of ten years, or any other professional with significant recognition in the field of IPR and no less than ten years of experience in the said field.
- Retired Government Official Track: Is a retired official of the IP Office under CGPDTM, holding a doctorate degree, with a minimum of five years of experience working at Level 12 or above (e.g., Controller of Patents & Designs, Registrar of Trademarks & Geographical Indications, Registrar of Copyrights).
Role & Responsibilities
- IP Teaching at Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) level.
- Ability to carry out independent research in IPR matters as per the guidelines of SPRIHA of DPIIT, Government of India.
Pay Structure & Contract Terms
- Consolidated Pay: Rs. 1,50,000 per month.
- Annual Increment: 3% of current remuneration granted upon completion of each 12-month period from the date of appointment.
- Contract Duration: As per SPRIHA Guidelines of DPIIT (project-based tenure).
