Chennai Port Authority has issued recruitment notification RC2/1122/2026/GA dated 09 October 2026 for the appointment of Senior Deputy Chief Medical Officer on a deputation basis. Eligible officers serving under Central Government / State Government / Public Sector Undertakings / Autonomous Bodies may apply through the Online Application Portal (OAP) of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, followed by submission of the signed printout through proper channel to the Secretary, Chennai Port Authority.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Candidates must fulfill all of the following requirements:

  • MBBS Degree from a recognized university.
  • Post Graduate Degree or PG Medical Diploma in the specified specialty from a recognized university.
  • Post-Qualification Experience:
    • 5 years in case of PG Degree holders in the relevant field of specialization in a reputed hospital.
    • 12 years in case of PG Diploma holders in the relevant field of specialization in a reputed hospital.
  • ACR/APAR Grading: Overall grading must not be below “Very Good” for the period considered.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

The selection will be made on purely merit basis through the following process:

  1. Merit Assessment: Overall grading in ACRs / APARs (not below “Very Good”).
  2. Services Selection Committee: Shortlisted candidates will be assessed by the Services Selection Committee constituted by Chennai Port Authority.

Important: Candidates applying from other Major / Minor Port Authorities must enclose the No Objection Certificate (NOC) and Vigilance / Administrative Clearance. Port officials who withdraw their candidature after selection by the Services Selection Committee shall be liable for debarment from future selection to Deputy Head of Department level posts in all Major Port Authorities for a period of two years.

The relieving Port shall ensure the selected officer is relieved within 30 days of the order of appointment.

  2. Fill out the online application form for the post of Senior Deputy Chief Medical Officer.
  3. Take a print-out of the submitted online application form.
  4. Attach all required documents including educational qualifications, experience certificates, undertaking (Annexure-5), vigilance clearance (Annexure-2), and service details (Annexure-4).
  5. Forward the application through proper channel to the Secretary, Chennai Port Authority, Rajaji Salai, Chennai – 600001 on or before 22 November 2026.

  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) of the respective Port to relieve the candidate.
  • Vigilance / Administrative Clearance of the officer in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-2), clearly indicating CLEAR / NOT-CLEAR from vigilance angle.
  • Complete service details with posts held till date in the prescribed format (Annexure-4).
  • Print-out of the online application form submitted via the OAP portal.

Applications received after 22 November 2026 or without ACRs / enclosures will not be considered.
