Given the semi-high-speed nature of Namo Bharat trains (160 km/h), medical standards strictly follow the Indian Railway Medical Manual (IRMM):
- Aye-One (A-1) Medical Category: Mandatory for Station Controller / Train Operator. Distance vision must be 6/6 without glasses. Zero color blindness, zero night blindness, and normal binocular stereoscopic vision. Lasik surgery is disqualifying for A-1 posts.
- Aye-Three (A-3) Category: For technical engineering supervisors. Distance vision 6/9 with or without glasses (power < 2.0D), normal color perception.
- Bee-One (B-1) & Bee-Two (B-2): For junior maintainers and workshop staff. Distance vision 6/12 with or without glasses, basic color discernment.
