TSPSC Group 1 Notification Highlights
- For the first time since its establishment in 2014, TSPSC (Telangana State Public Service Commission) is issuing a Group-1 Notification with a 95% reservation for local candidates, in accordance with the New Presidential Order of 2018.
- This notification marks the announcement of a large number of Group-I vacancies, totaling 565.
- Online applications are expected to commence soon.
- The examination scheme comprises two tiers: a Preliminary Test (Objective Type) followed by a Written Test (Main) (Conventional Type). Notably, interviews for Group-I services have been waived.
- The Preliminary Test (Objective Type) is likely to be conducted soon in all 33 Districts of Telangana State. The notification for the Written Exam (Mains) (Conventional Type) will follow later.
- Before applying for the Group-I notification, candidates must register in TSPSC OTR (One Time Registration) or update their existing OTR under the new Presidential Order. Candidates should possess the prescribed educational qualifications as of the date of notification.
- EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) and Sports reservations have been introduced for the first time in Group-1 Services.
- The selection process will involve picking candidates from Prelims to Mains at a ratio of 50 times the total available vacancies in each multi-zone, adhering to reservation rules for community, gender, EWS, PH (Physically Handicapped), and Sports.
- The Preliminary Examination will be conducted in Urdu for the first time, in addition to English and Telugu languages. Furthermore, the Mains Question Paper will also be published in Urdu, alongside English and Telugu.
- The commission is considering providing an e-question paper for the main examination instead of a printed question paper. Additionally, digital evaluation for the main examination is being contemplated to expedite the selection process.

Applicants must have earned their Bachelor’s degree or completed their graduation from a recognized university or college, achieving an overall aggregate score.

Physical Requirements for the Post Code: 02 & 09
- Must be not less than 165 Cms. in height and must be not less than 86.3 Cms. round the chest on full inspiration and has a chest expansion of not less than 5 Cms. on full inspiration
Physical Requirements for the Post Code: 07
- Must not be less than 167.6 Cms in height and 86.3 Cms round the Chest on full inspiration with a minimum expansion of 5.0 Cms.
- Provided that in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes and Aborginal Tribes, where the reserved quota could not be fully utilized for want of sufficient number of such candidates possessing the requisite physical standards, the physical standards shall be as specified below:- Must not be less than 164.0 Cms. in height and 83.8 Cms round the Chest on full inspiration with a minimum expansion of 5.0 Cms.
VISION STANDARDS:
STANDARD-I
- i) Right Eye: Distant Vision V–6/6, Near Vision-Reads 0.6
ii) Left Eye: V–6/6, Reads 0.6
STANDARD-II
- i) Better Eye: Distant Vision V–6/6, Near Vision-Reads 0.6
ii) Worse Eye: V- without glasses – Not below 6/6; and after correction with glasses not below 6/24, Reads 1
