About Bharuch Dahej Railway Company Limited (BDRCL)
The Bharuch Dahej Railway Company Limited (BDRCL) was started on 15th November 2006. The Project has been undertaken by the Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a special purpose vehicle set up by the government of India, Under the National Rail Vikas Yojana (NRVY).
The Ministry of Railways under the National Rail Vikas Yojana (NRVY) conceived an investment plan for the rail sector, to provide strategic rail communication link to ports construction of mega-bridges for improving communication to the hinterland and development of multi-modal transport corridors.
The BD Railway line provides a vital transport link to the proposed petroleum chemical & petrochemical investment region (PCPIR) and the new ports facilities being developed at Dahej in Gujarat.
