Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Guwahati is an initiative of Govt. of India, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. The centre is located at Guwahati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) Campus, Bhangagarh, Guwahati, Assam 781 032. The centre has been functioning since 19th March 2001 under the administrative control of Swami Vivekananda National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR), Odisha. The aim of CRC, Guwahati is to provide services to the PWDs and develop manpower in the field of disabilities in the North Eastern Region (NER). It provides comprehensive rehabilitation services at the centre and through extended services (Identification, assessment and distribution camps) to the PWDs. The centre also conducts various courses in the field of disabilities. Presently, the centre is running four courses namely 1.Diploma in Hearing Language & Speech 2. D. Ed Special Education (Mental Retardation) 3.Bachelor in Audiology Speech Language Pathology. & 4. B. Ed Special. Education. (Hearing Impairment)
