About Delhi Police Housing Corporation Limited

Delhi Police Housing Corporation Limited was formed after the approval on Hon’ble President of India vide MHA’S letter Dated 29.06.2007 and incorporated in November’2007 under Companies Act, 1956. The authorized share capital of the Corporation is Rupees Ten Crores and paid up capital of Rs. Five Crores as on date. The main activities of the Corporation are to acquire land with or without buildings, undertake construction and maintenance of houses, offices or other buildings etc.

Housing has been recognized as a major input for increasing the morale of the Police forces all over the country. This is particularly so in metros like Delhi because private houses are not available at affordable rents in the nearby locations forcing the policemen to live in slums or commute from nearby towns of U.P. and Haryana. Considering the importance of constructing good quality houses in the shortest possible time span for its police personnel, several State Governments have established Police Housing Corporations. There are Police Housing Corporations in several States. Presently, the house construction work of Delhi Police is mainly handled by PWD and CPWD and some other Central Public Sector Undertakings.
