The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), undertake 12 Engineering College, 9 Government Colleges and 3 Government aided Colleges, 49 Polytechnic College, 43 Government Polytechnic College, 6 Government Aided polytechnic College, 3 Fine Arts Colleges and 397 Technical High Schools.

The vision of Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), is to maintain and enhance the quality of technical education by laying the policies, establishing and developing Government Institutions, guiding and supervising the aided private institutions interacting with industry and national level institutions, coordinating with other departments of State Government.
