About District Court Budaun

In the heart of this great historical city, the District Court, Budaun is situated, with a glorious past of more than 100 years. Before the year 1913, the civil jurisdiction of district Budaun was under Shahjahanpur Judgeship, whereas the criminal jurisdiction of district Budaun was under Moradabad Judgeship. Eminent Educationist and Social Reformer of 19th Century Sir Syed Ahmad Khan also served as Sadar-e-Ala in Budaun.

In the year 1913, Budaun Judgeship was established and the work of Civil and Criminal Cases relating to Budaun, Bisauli, Bilsi, Dataganj, Gunnaur and Sahaswan were takenup at Budaun Judgeship. Mr. L. Marshal, I.C.S. was declared the First District Judge of Budaun Judgeship.

Laying of the formal structure:
Before the year 1960, Sahaswan was under Munsif Budaun and Bisauli was under Budaun (i.e Bisauli was called as Munsif Bisauli at Budaun).
Before 1st April 1974, both the courts of Admj and Jos were running at Budaun. After year 1974, Admj Court was converted into Chief Judicial Magistrate Court and Jos Court was converted into Judicial Magistrate Court.
