Sub: Selection for promotion to the post of JE(Works) in pay Matrix Level-6 against 25% DPQ in Civil Engineering department of ECoR/HQ Office. It has been decided by the competent authority to call for option applications from willing and eligible staff of Civil Engineering (Works wing) department of ECoR/HQs, all divisions, CRW/MCS, staff working in construction organisation, RE/BBS and CRW/MCS having lien in division for filling up the vacant post of JE(Works) in Level-6.

3. Eligibility Conditions: Sr.Technicians in pay Matrix in Level-6 in Works wing of Engineering departments are eligible. However, in the event of unwillingness or non-availability of Sr.Technicians, Technician-I in pay Matrix Level-5 who have completed 2 years regular service will also be eligible.

(A) The mode of selection on the basis of seniority-cum- merit adjudged by written examination, evaluation of SR/APARs of last three years and seniority. Eligible candidates will be called for the written test as per their seniority on the basis of 1:3 ratio. The promotion to the post of JE(Works) is subject to being declared medically fit in A-3 (Aye three) and passing mandatory promotional course training wherever applicable.
(B): Candidates have to secure minimum 60% marks in written test and ;60% in aggregate will be empanelled. There will be no relaxation in marks for SC/ST candidates.
(C): Only those who secure the prescribed percentage of qualifying marks in the written examination will be subjected to scrutiny of service record /APAR. The panel to be prepared in the order of seniority from those qualified and as per vacancy.
Written Examination:
(A): There will be 110 questions (including 10 questions for official language policy & guidelines) of objective multiple choice types with four answer options as A, B, C & D. Candidates have to answer a maximum 100 questions. In case of candidate answers more than 100 questions, first 100 attempted questions are to be taken for evaluation. The answers are to be marked on OMR answer sheet and the OMR answer sheet will be evaluated manually.
(B): The duration of written examination is of 02 (Two) hours. No Electronics gadgets are allowed in to Examination Hall. The candidates are not allowed to leave their seat during the two hours of Examination period. They should be prepared not to leave during two hours period before entering to Examination Hall. The question paper of the written examination will be bilingual i.e English and Hindi.
(C): Cutting, over writing, erasing or alteration of any type in answer will not be accepted and zero mark will be given for answer having correction/overwriting. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
The closing date of option applications by the staff to their controlling Officers is 10.03.2022. Applications received after 10.03.2022 will not be entertained. Candidates are advised to exercise their option applications through their controlling Officers. Staff working in RE, Construction organisation having lien in division may apply through their Controlling Officer to the concerned personnel officer of the division. Controlling Officers are advised to forward the option application to concerned Personnel Officers within 7 days from the date of receiving option applications.
