Educational Qualification: MBBS
Applications are invited for one post of Medical Officer on contractual basis for Antiretroviral Therapy Centre (ART Centre), under the aegis of Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society, UT, Chandigarh before 25.04.2022 till 12:00 Noon.

Selection Procedure
1. The written test, if held, will be in the form of 50 MCQs of 1 hour duration. The shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in the office of Medical Superintendent- cum-Chairman ART Centre, Level-II, Block-D, GMCH-32, Chandigarh on 06-05-2022 at 3:00 PM. Original certificates will be checked at the time of interview.
2. In case the number of eligible candidate exceeds five times the number of seats, then a written screening test will be held on 06-05-2022 at 10.00 AM in Lecture Theatre-II, Block-E, Level-II, GMCH-32, and Chandigarh
How to Apply:
1. The desirous candidates having the requisite qualifications mentioned above should submit their bio- data along with self attested photocopies of certificate (MBBS degree and Registration certificate of degree with State Medical Council / MCI) & one recent passport size photograph on or before 25.04.2022 till 12:00 Noon to the Chairman, Steering Committee — ARTC in Room No.B 5405a, Govt. Medical College Hospital, Level-V, Block-B, Sector 32, Chandigarh - 160030.
2. The Application received after the last date i.e 25-04-2022 till 12:00 noon or incomplete application will not be entertained. In case the number of eligible candidate exceeds five times the number of seats, then a written screening test will be held on 06-05-2022 at 10.00 AM in Lecture Theatre-II, Block-E, Level-II, GMCH-32, and Chandigarh
3. Whether the written test will be held or not can be enquired from 304-2022 to 05-05-2022 between 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM on telephone numbers or Room No.B 5405a, Govt. Medical College Hospital, Level-V, Block-B, Sector 32, Chandigarh - 160030.

Chandigarh the ‘City Beautiful’ has one of the best educational facilities in the country. Besides the Panjab University and the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, it has an Engineering College, College of Arts, College of Architecture, a number of Government and Private Degree Colleges and other prestigious and important research institutions. However city lacked a Medical College for graduate i.e. MBBS and postgraduate studies for the students belonging to Chandigarh. Chandigarh Administration decided to establish a Medical College in Chandigarh to remove this deficiency. For this purpose the Department of Medical Education & Research was created. In pursuance of the No Objection Certificate issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Vide their U.O. No. 12013/31-90ME(P) dated 15-01-91 Government Medical College was started in 1991 with following broad objectives:
To fulfill the glaring deficiency of an undergraduate Medical College in the Union Territory of Chandigarh which offers the best educational facilities in all other fields. The Government Medical College will be attached to a teaching hospital.
To act as a center for Continuing Medical Education Programmes for various. categories of technical and non-technical personnel of different disciplines working within and from other institutions/hospitals.
Ranked 25 in NIRF's India Ranking 2020.
To render facilities for conducting research activities relating to different specialties, as and when required.
