Government Polytechnic, Daman was established in the year 1989 by the Union territory Administration of Daman and Diu, with the aim of providing quality technical education to the students of Daman, Diu and nearby areas, who aspire to become skilled engineers, and it is striving to impart quality education to strengthen technical base in the country. The institute recognized the need of the hour and setup a strong institution to educate the youth, to make them aware of the rights as well as what they can be and what they can do for the nation. It is a fast growing technical institution in the Union Territory of Daman and Diu.
