Seeking the following Mumbai-based position for a collaborative project between the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai and S&TWD UT of Ladakh, to study Nutritional status of children under age of five and utilization of ICDS in the Union Territory of Ladakh in India. Applications are invited for walk-in or online interview for the following position.

1. Position: Senior Research Scientist (Two-Positions)

2. Essential:

PhD graduate and having one year research experience in the field of Population Studies, Demography, Public Health, Biostatistics or a related field. OR M. Phil. and three years research experience in the field of Population Studies, Demography, Public Health, Biostatistics or a related field. OR Master of Population Studies and four years research experience in the field of Population Studies, Demography, Public Health, Biostatistics or a related field.

3. Desirable: We prefer candidates with research experience in the areas of nutrition & child health and/or data collection monitoring and evaluation. Prior experience of working with large scale data.

4. Specific tasks:

Manuscript and/or report writing based on secondary data Developing guide/schedule for qualitative data collection and qualitative data collection its analysis and report writing. Questionnaire preparation, data collection, and overall supervision of data collection. Competency in advanced statistical analysis Preference will be given to candidate who can speak Ladakhis

5. Salary: Up to 80,000/- per month (Consolidated) as per qualification/experience.

 

1. Position: Accountant (One-Position)

2. Essential: Graduation in commerce/ finance/ financial economics and three years of experience to handle large scale sample survey.

3. Desirable: We prefer candidate who has experience of large-scale sample survey project management and administration

4. Specific tasks:

To deal day-to-day accounts and finances.Daily project management. To assist project coordinators in different aspects project implementation. 4) To facilitate Senior/Junior Research Scientists in data collection. 5) To co-ordinate with officials of the S&TWD UT of Ladakh during project period

5. Salary: Up to 50,000/- per month (Consolidated) as per qualification/experience

 

1. Position: Multi Tasking Staff (One-Position)

2. Essential: Completed 10+2 or intermediate or twelfth in any subject.

3. Desirable: Having two years of experience of working with social science/population/demography research team.

4. Specific tasks: To maintain office. Day-to-day duties assigned by the project research team

5. Salary: Up to 20,000/- per month (Consolidated) as per qualification/experience.

 

1. Position: Junior Research Scientist (One-Position)

2. Essential:

How to Apply:

1. Interested and eligible applicant may walk-in or online for an interview on February16, 2022 at 2.00 p.m. in the NFHS Committee Room, First Floor, Academic Building, IIPS Mumbai.

2. Candidates are advised to bring their CV, a cover letter, research experience proof (if applicable).

3. The position is full time and employed purely on contract basis at the IIPS ICDS-Ladakh Project, Mumbai.

4. Selected candidates will report to the faculty coordinators of the ICDS-Ladakh Project at IIPS

5. The initial appointment may be for six months and may be extended on satisfactory performance and fulfilment of assigned responsibilities and retention of funding

6. Appointment shall terminate with completion of the project or the period of appointment, whichever is earlier

7. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Selected candidate will be required to join the duty at a short notice.

About International Institute for Population Sciences

International Institute for Population Sciences Logo

The International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai, formerly known as the Demographic Training and Research Centre (DTRC) till 1970, was established in July 1956 under the joint sponsorship of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, the Government of India and the United Nations. It serves as a regional centre for Training and Research in Population Studies for the ESCAP region. The Institute was re-designated to its present title in 1985 to facilitate the expansion of its academic activities. It was declared as a 'Deemed University' on August 14, 1985, under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The recognition has facilitated the award of recognized degrees by the Institute itself and paved the way for further expansion of the Institute as an academic institution. In 2006, the Institute celebrated its Golden Jubilee.
