The Indian Institute of Carpet Technology popularly known as IICT, the only of its kind in Asia, has been set up by Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India to provide much needed support to Textile, Carpet and allied Industries. The Institute started functioning from 2001.
The Institute is affiliated to U.P. Technical University. Lucknow and is approved by A.I.C.T.E. The institute is also a member of I.S.T.E. and CII and recognized by Textile Institute, Manchester, UK.

Indian Institute of Carpet Technology (IICT) was established in the year 2001. IICT was established to provide much-needed support to Textile, Carpet, and allied Industries. Indian Institute of Carpet Technology is affiliated to U.P. Technical University & is approved by A.I.C.T.E. IICT is also a member of I.S.T.E. and CII and recognized by Textile Institute, Manchester, UK. The institute is situated in Bhadohi, UP. The institute conducts B. Tech. Course in Carpet & Textile Technology. The students can also do specialization in Home Textile Technology and Textile Design Technology. IICT is running Industry Based Short Term Training Courses in Design, Dyeing and Computer Application & Management. The institute also offers Distance Learning Programme in Wool / Carpet / Textiles. IICT is ISO 9001:2000 certified.
