Indian Institute of Management Calcutta Invites Application for General Manager Recruitment 2021

The Office of Dean (New Initiatives and External Relations) which spearheads fundraising for IIM Calcutta is looking to recruit a seasoned professional for fundraising and alumni connect. IIM Calcutta is going for a major revamp of campus infrastructure both physical and digital. The Office of Dean (New Initiatives and External Relations) envisages playing a key role in strengthening corporate and alumni engagement with IIM Calcutta in order to make it the most desired destination in the field of management education and research.

1. Post Name: General Manager (Fund Raising and Alumni Connect) in the Office of Dean (New Initiatives and External Relations)

2. Location – Kolkata

3. Educational Qualifications: Graduate with an MBA or equivalent

4. Desirable: Experience in customer-facing roles like Sales, Marketing; Managing a Sales team would be an added advantage.

5. Experience: - Minimum 10 years of experience in fund mobilization, corporate engagement, and CSR initiatives. The role involves active engagement with senior corporate officials, alumni, government officials, and would need excellent communication and networking capabilities. The candidate should ideally be an extrovert with a positive attitude

6. This role’s expectation would be to contribute effectively to the office of Dean (New Initiatives and External Relations) in reaching the set goals. In the process of routine work, the chosen candidate would be interacting closely with Alumni of IIM Calcutta, Corporates, Foundations, and Trusts and raising funds for IIM Calcutta’s causes. IIM Calcutta is in the process of setting up a Section 8 company dedicated to fundraising and the selected candidate may later be assigned a commensurate role in that company.

7. The object of the proposed Section 8 company is to advance educational and other permissible charitable purposes under the auspices of the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) including managing endowment funds to be used for the purpose of furthering education and research initiatives in IIM Calcutta, in line with IIM Calcutta’s charter.

8. Compensation: 24-30 lakhs per annum including fixed and performance-related variable pay plus Institute-provided accommodation (subject to availability). Compensation would be commensurate with qualifications and experience and is subject to the decision of the Selection Committee.
