1. Position: Senior Consultant-1 (one Position)

2. Name of the Project: CGMFP & ICAR-IIMR joint project on “Millet Promotion in Chhattisgarh”

3. Emoluments: Rs 1.00 Lakh/ month (Consolidated)

4. Project Till: March 2022 (Likely to be extended up to 2023)

5. Qualification:

(i) Master’s degree in: Agricultural sciences (Seed Technology/ Plant Breeding/ Agronomy/ Agrl. Economics) Food Engineering/ Agrl. Processing Engineering/ or Equivalent Master Degree in Agri-Business/ Agri-Marketing from Recognized Institute or allied fields.

(ii) Must be having relevant experience of 5-10 years. Exposure in FPOs Management with experience in Millet’s value chain including Production, Processing, procurement, marketing in Millets.

6. Roles & Responsibilities:

(i) To create a Millet Production Manual for dissemination of the information on achieving profitable millet (KODO, KUTKI, RAGI) productivity levels.

(ii) Coordinate for identification of seed varieties “cultivar” compatible with the soil structure and eco system of the district in reference.

(iii) Coordinate for compilation of information on Good Agricultural Practices to be adopted for millet production and cultivation.

(iv) Assist in sourcing of improved millet cultivar seeds through the Breeder Seed Production (BSP) & Seed hub network being funded under Nutri-Cereals Sub Mission (NFSM).

(v) Assist in sourcing of improved tools and equipment for improving productivity of the millet production and cultivation.

(vi) Provide master training to the implementing agency KVK and District agriculture department, nominated officials, who in turn will conduct training for the millet cultivators and farmers.

(vii) Coordinate for Conducting field workshops for farmers and trainers, to improve profitability of Millet cultivation.

(viii) Coordinate for Collection and dissemination data on the estimated increase in acreage under Millet cultivation and per acre increase in productivity for each millet in reference in the district.

(ix) The Senior Consultants shall visit the state of Chhattisgarh once in every month for progress review and coordination of various activities.

(x) Any other task assigned by coordinator/ co-coordinator, ICAR-IIMR
