Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram is a premier autonomous Institution established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, for promotion of high-quality science education and research in the country.

i. The Institute invites applications for the following positions on contract basis:

1. Name of Post: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

2. Name of Project: ENDFLU”: “Evaluation of Rationally Designed Influenza Vaccines”

3. No of posts available: 1

4. Minimum Educational qualification (as prescribed by the funding agency): 

a. Post graduate degree in any area of biological sciences OR Graduate/Post Graduate degree in Professional course selected through a process described through any one of the following:

b. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests- CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE

c. The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central government departments and their agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.,

5. Preference:

Candidate should be highly motivated to develop various cellular assays to study humoral and cellular responses. The researcher will also collaborate with Indian and European teams studying vaccine responses. Academically excellent candidate with technical proficiency in molecular biology and immunology, and basic microbiology.

6. Fellowship amount: JRF: Rs.31,000 + HRA as applicable

7. Tenure of the post: 1 year, extendable based on performance upto 4 years or till completion of the project whichever is earlier
