Educational Qualification: M.Sc
Applications are invited for a “Research Assistant” position in Luminescence Dating Laboratory, Department of Earth Sciences (DES), IISER Kolkata, Mohanpur, Nadia, West Bengal 741246 for the project entitled “Late Quaternary Geomorphic Evolution of Alluvial fans in the Himalayas: Implications to past climate reconstruction and Tectonic activity”.This position is purely temporary and can be terminated anytime with an advance notice of one month from the both parties.

4. Salary: INR 28,000 per month.
5. Principal Investigator: Dr. Manoj Kumar Jaiswal, Associate Professor.
6. Qualification: Essential qualification: M.Sc. in Applied Geology or related field in Earth Sciences. Qualified candidates will receive a preference for NET/GATE/equivalent National Level Tests.
7. Desirable Qualifications: Candidates should have relevant research experience in the area of Luminesce dating. Preference will be given to the candidate having experience in IRSL dating on feldspar and polymineral fine grains. Good knowledge of Remote Sensing and Arc-GIS is also required for the project.

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata (IISER Kolkata) was established in 2006 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (now Ministry of Education), Government of India. IISER Kolkata is designed to reach the prestigious position in the global setting that IISc, IIMs and IITs presently enjoy. IISER Kolkata is an autonomous institution awarding its own degrees.
