The Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University was previously known as Bhavnagar University. The university is situated in Bhavnagar city in western province of Gujarat State, India. The university promotes teaching and research in various streams like Arts, Commerce, Science, Engineering, Medicine, Rural Studies etc.The university consist of in all 22 departments with 18 post graduates centers and four recognized institutes and research centres. Bhavnagar is traditionally renowned for its cultural heritage in the western India with its last princely ruler Shri Krishnakumarsinhji who was the first to donate his princely state to the Nation. Its consists of about 198 acres of land -estate .

The university was sanctioned years ago in year 1978 in Gujarat state. The total place if campus is about 269 acres of land ,spread over 3 location.The University currently has 20 Post Graduate Departments along with 4 Recognized Institutes.
