NABI is involved in research activities for the Bio fortification, development of designer crops for improved nutrition, providing sustainable and novel solutions towards quality food and nutrition, and development of evidence based functional foods to counter malnutrition. Food and nutritional Biotechnology division at NABI requires following research personnel purely on temporary basis. Advertisement no. NABI/5(01)/2011-22- 01-Res 1. Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow 2. No of Post: 01 3. Project Title: “Improvement of starch based processing and nutritional quality in wheat. 4. Duration: The total duration will be five years from date of joining. Tenure of JRF will be initially for two years. Upgradation from JRF to SRF will be after completion of two years subject to progress report of two years submitted by the scholar. 5. Essential Qualification: - Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate /Post Graduate Degree in professional course selected through a process described through any one of the following: - Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests-CSIR-UGC-NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE The selection process through National Level examinations conducted by central government departments and their agencies and institutions such as DST,DBT,DAE,DOS,DRDO,MHRD,ICAR,ICMR,IIT,IISc,IISER etc. 6. Desirable: - Proven experience in agricultural biotechnology and molecular biology, specially in molecular markers and QTL mapping studies; experience in basic informatics tools. 7. Fellowship: - Junior Research Fellows will be hired as per emoluments’ guidelines and service conditions notified by DST (OM No. SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated 30.01.2019) Rs 31000/ month + HRA) 1. Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow 2. No of Post: 01 3. Project Title: "Development of aptamer based multiple biosensor pesticides in real time” 4. Duration: The appointment will be initially for two years as JRF or till the termination of the project whichever is earlier. Further upgradation from JRF to SRF will be on the basis of submission of progress report and further assessment. 5. Essential Qualification:- Post graduate degree in Basic Science Or Graduate/Post Graduate in professional course selected through a process described through any one of the following a) Scholars are selected through National Eligibility Tests-CSIR UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE. b) The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT,DAE,DOS,DRDO,MHRD,ICAR,ICMR,IIT,IISc,IISER etc. 6. Emoluments and eligibility as per DST OM SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated 30th January, 2019. 7. Desirable Experience: - Experience in aptamer and synthesis work. 1. Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow 2. No of Post: 01 3. Project Title: “Investigating the role and regulatory aspect of intrinsically disordered region(s) in DOF-transcription factors with emphasis to rice grain quality 4. Duration: The appointment will be initially for two years as JRF or till the termination of the project whichever is earlier. Further upgradation from JRF to SRF will be on the basis of submission of progress report and further assessment. 5. Essential Qualification:- Post graduate degree in Basic Science Or Graduate/Post Graduate in professional course selected through a process described through any one of the following a) Scholars are selected through National Eligibility Tests-CSIR UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE. b) The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT,DAE,DOS,DRDO,MHRD,ICAR,ICMR,IIT,IISc,IISER etc. 6. Emoluments and eligibility as per DST OM SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated 30th January, 2019. 7. Responsibilities: - Recruited JRF will work on the yeast system for protein-protein and DNA-protein interaction study, development of rice transgenics plants and study the gene regulatory network associated with grain quality and (a)biotic stress response in rice. 8. Emoluments: Rs. 31000/- per month Plus HRA as per project.

National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI) is the first Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute, established in India on 18th February 2010. The institute aims at catalyzing the transformation of Agri-food sector in India. The institute has the vision to be a nodal organization for knowledge generation and translational science leading to value-added products based on Agri-Food biotech innovations. The main research focus of NABI is to harness biotechnological tools in the area of Agriculture Biotechnology, Food, and Nutritional Biotechnology so as to provide sustainable and novel solutions towards quality food and nutrition.
Activities undertaken at NABI under different areas includes,
Agricultural Biotechnology,
Food and Nutritional Biotechnology,
Human Resource Development,
Meeting and Courses and
Technology Transfer and Outreach.
The institute has developed strong linkages with National and International organizations and industries. The institute is part of an agri-food cluster in the “Knowledge City” of Mohali (Punjab) along with its neighboring institutes.
