CSIR – National Institute of Oceanography, a constituent national laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research Institute (CSIR), invites applications from eligible candidates for recruitment of the following project staff, purely on a temporary contractual basis to carry out research work on the R&D project and to be engaged in NIO Regional Centre Mumbai.

1. Position: Principal Project Associate

2. No. of. Posts: 01

3. Project Title and Vacancy Details: Vacancy Code SSP3402/2215-22 Tenure: 6 Months

4. Monthly Emoluments: Rs.49000 /- Plus HRA as per rules

5. Essential Qualification: MSc in Marine Science/Marine Biology/Fisheries Science with minimum 8 years experience in R & D in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations

6. Desirable Qualification & Job Requirement: PhD in Marine Science with scientific publications in peer reviewed journals. Experience in working on marine biology projects which deal with biodiversity monitoring, impact assessment, and management.Assist in sampling, data handling, report writing, and scientific publications.

3. Project Title and Vacancy Details: Vacancy Code SSP3345/2217-22 Tenure: 6 Months

4. Monthly Emoluments: Rs.25000 /- Plus HRA as per rules

5. Essential Qualification: M.Sc. Oceanography with Chemical Oceanography specialization

6. Desirable Qualification & Job Requirement Experience of working in Marine chemistry and experience in chemical analysis of seawater and sediment. Participation in the coastal and offshore field for sample collection, chemical analysis of seawater and sediment, Statistical Analyses of data, reports and Manuscripts preparation.

25000 - 49000(Per Month)

Selection Procedure

1. If number of applications are more, then selection committee will fix a criteria to shortlist the applicants. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview. Selection will be done on the basis of online interview through either Skype/Google Meet/Zoom or any other suitable software, as decided by the competent authority.

2. Applications received after the due date (27 March 2022) will be rejected. The short-listed candidates will be informed through e-mail/website.
