Project Scientist-III, Project Scientist-II, Project Scientist-I

The National Centre for Coastal Research (NCCR), an attached office of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, invites online applications for the positions of Project Scientist-III, Project Scientist-II, and Project Scientist-I under the Mission Mausam program. A total of 04 vacancies are available on a purely temporary and contract basis valid up to March 31, 2027 (extendable based on performance review and project requirements). Indian Nationals with the prescribed educational qualifications and experience in Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields are eligible. Detailed Qualifications & Experience Requirements

Project Scientist-III (Post Code: PS-III-MM1)

• Essential Qualification: Master's Degree in Geoinformatics / Geomatics / Civil Engineering / Remote Sensing or equivalent from a recognized University/Institute with First Class (minimum 60% marks / equivalent CGPA).
• Essential Experience: Minimum 7 years of research experience in relevant fields or GIS applications for multi-hazard modeling and mapping for coastal zone management.
• Preference: Additional experience in web-GIS dashboards, numerical models, and field surveys.
• Desirable: Ph.D. in Geoinformatics/Geomatics/Remote Sensing or equivalent; experience in 1D/2D flood and hydrological modeling using MIKE-21, HEC-HMS, or HEC-RAS.

Project Scientist-II (Post Code: PS-II-MM2)

• Essential Qualification: Master's Degree in Geoinformatics / Geomatics / Civil Engineering / Remote Sensing or equivalent with First Class (minimum 60% marks).
• Essential Experience: Minimum 5 years of research experience in GIS applications for multi-hazard modeling/mapping for coastal zone management.
• Preference: Additional experience in web-GIS dashboards, numerical models, and field surveys.
• Desirable: Ph.D. in relevant fields; numerical modeling of 1D/2D flood and hydrological modeling (MIKE-21/HEC-HMS/HEC-RAS).

Project Scientist-I (Post Code: PS-I-MM3)

• Essential Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent with First Class (minimum 60% marks).
• Desirable: Experience in numerical modeling of free surface flows and coastal processes using MIKE-21, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, or Delft-3D.

Project Scientist-I (Post Code: PS-I-MM4)

• Essential Qualification: Master's Degree in Computer Science / Computer Applications OR B.E. / B.Tech in Computer Science / Information Technology with First Class (minimum 60% marks).
• Desirable: MATLAB and Python programming skills for oceanographic data analysis; Web-GIS dashboard development in ArcGIS Server / GeoServer environments; Android App development.
