1. Project / Dept. Name / Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Pineapple fruit waste (processing by-products) characterization and its utilization in development of millet based probiotic fermented products (GAP-053)
2. No. of Vacancy: 1 No.
3. Essential Qualifications: M.Tech/ M.Sc. degree (4 yrs. of UG + 2 yrs. of PG) in Food Science and Technology/ Food process Engineering / Food & Agricultural Process Engineering/Processing and Food Engineering/Food Microbiology (or) M.Sc. degree (3 yrs. of UG + 2 yrs. of PG) in the above disciplines with NET and 2 years of research experience (or) Ph.D in the above disciplines
4. Monthly Remuneration: Rs. 31,000/- (Consolidated) + HRA as applicable

Selection Procedure
a) Eligible candidates will be called for the online written examination followed by online interview
b) Instructions for Online written examination
1. Examination will be taken up by the candidates from their home/locations
2. Mock test will be conducted to familiarize with the software and to verify system requirements
3. Syllabus for examination: Related to food processing sector
4. Question paper pattern: 40 MCQs (1 mark each) and 2 essay questions 5 marks each); no negative marking.
5. The Recommended Configuration (Minimum) for the Laptop/Desktop Device to be used for Exam is: OS - Windows 8/8.1/10, Processor - Pentium i3, RAM - 4 GB, HDD - 10 GB free space available, Camera, Microphone
6. It is the responsibility of the candidate to make his own arrangement for system (Desktop/Laptop with the adequate configuration) with internet connections to take up the examination as well as interview from their locations. NIFTEM, Thanjavur will not held responsible for any lapses.

About National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management Recruitment
About National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management
NIFTEM was first officially announced in the budget speech for 2006–07 made by P. Chidambaram, the Minister of Finance, in February 2006.[4] But the institute was only to be inaugurated in 2012,[5] by Sharad Pawar, the Minister of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.[6] It was set with an original investment of ₹500 crore (equivalent to ₹759 crore or US$110 million in 2019), on 100 acres (40 ha) of land.[7]
The institute started with several Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programmes. Master of Technology (M.Tech) programmes have been offered since the academic year 2012-13, and a Ph.D programme was added from 2013-14.[7] The first convocation of the institute, held in February 2018, was attended by the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.[8]
National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) was established in the year 2006. It is located in Sonepat, Haryana. NIFTEM looks after research, education, and caters to the need of various stakeholders, e.g. entrepreneurs, food processing industry, exporters, policy makers and government policy.
