Eligibility Criteria for NDA 2026

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification:
• For Army Wing: Passed 12th Class (10+2 pattern) or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
• For Air Force and Naval Wings: Passed 12th Class (10+2 pattern) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) subjects or degree in Engineering from a recognized University.
• Age Limit: Candidates born between [Specific Dates to be updated based on notification, usually July 2, 2007, to January 1, 2010, for NDA 1 2026] and [Specific Dates to be updated based on notification, usually January 2, 2006, to January 1, 2009, for NDA 2 2026]. Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection is a multi-stage process:

1. Written Examination: Conducted by UPSC. Divided into two papers:
   • Paper I (Mathematics): Duration 2.5 hours, Max Marks 300. Syllabus includes Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Statistics, Probability, etc.
   • Paper II (General Ability Test): Duration 2.5 hours, Max Marks 600. Consists of English (Objective Type) and General Knowledge (Physics, Chemistry, Geography, History, Current Events).
2. Intelligence and Personality Test (SSB Interview): Conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB). This is a five-day process involving psychological tests, group testing, and interviews.
3. Medical Examination: A thorough medical and physical examination to assess fitness for service.

Salary Structure & Allowances

During the training period at NDA, cadets receive a stipend of ₹56,100 per month (as per 7th CPC). Upon commissioning as officers (Lieutenant or equivalent), they are placed in Pay Level 10, with a starting basic pay of ₹56,100. In addition to the basic pay, officers receive various allowances such as Military Service Pay (MSP), Dearness Allowance (DA), Transport Allowance (TA), and Field Area Allowance/High Altitude Allowance depending on their posting, leading to a significantly higher total emolument.
