The North Eastern Region Farm Machinery Training & Testing Institute (NERFMTTI) was established in year 1990, by Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture and Coop,New Delhi, Government of India.

The aim of Institute is to promote the efficient use of Energy Resources, Natural Resources, such as Land, Water, Capital and Labours etc and other input like Chemical, Fertilizers, Seeds for the quality Production.

The prime objective of North Eastern Region Farm Machinery Training & Testing Institute, is to promote the Farm Mechanization for Cultivation of different Crops, Transfer of Technology to the Farmer’s field. They provide Trained and Skilled personnel for selection, Operation, Repair & Maintenance of Tractors and Agricultural Machinery, to generate self employment for rural youth by establishing their own Repair & Maintenance Shop for Agricultural Machinery at Village level.

The North Eastern Region Farm Machinery Training & Testing Institute, conducting various Appropriate Mechanization Technology program for Energy Management in Agriculture in different Courses of Diploma, Degree & Certificate.
